Q and A with GK
Why/when did you move here?
I left Alaska in 1987 after graduating high school and went to further my education in Phoenix, Arizona. I met several people
from Vegas and we quickly became friends. We would travel to Vegas almost every other weekend. Once we all graduated and went
our separate ways, a few of us would still meet in Vegas for a crazy weekend. Since I was spending so much time here and as
soon as I left, I was always planning my next trip back, it only seemed natural to move here and make Vegas my permanent home.
When did you start at VEGAS.com, and what does your job entail?
I started at VEGAS.com in March of 2005 as a Travel Specialist in the Contact Center. I was promoted to a Contact Center Supervisor
in May of 2006.
What is your favorite thing about working at VEGAS.com?
Working at VEGAS.com affords me the luxury of seeing just about every show Vegas has to offer!
What are your hobbies?
Chess, martial arts and riding motorcycles.
Give us a random fact about yourself
I have been a student of Lama Pai Kung Fu for the last 10 years and have competed in more than 30 amateur fights. I took another
first place as recent as May 2007, in the San Diego Open Grand National Championships.
Give us your top insider tips about Vegas
- Always ask if there are any off-menu specials at restaurants, you never know what you will find.
- With the way most of the theaters are built, you don't have to purchase the "premium seats" to get a great view. (Sometimes
being so close, you have to strain to see all the action)
- If you want to get into a certain club follow this rule: Get there early!
